The following designs were created using Ontario grown flowers.

Kay's Petals and Plants

The designer was inspired by the natural beauty of northern Ontario (cottage country) -- specifically the vibrant colours of summer, paired with elements of blue sky and water, complemented by the more muted tones of rocks and wildlife. This design is meant to showcase the unique characteristics of each flower type used, as well as harmoniously blend them into an eye-catching display that works well for any occasion.

Alma Florist

Out of the old and dried, comes the emergence of the new and fresh. Delicate freesia and forsythia extend up from and through the weathered driftwood to greet the sleek iris. From the mossy ground, young buds emerge from the winter slumber. As in nature, clusters of flowers are grouped together in this design to emphasize the colour groupings and draw the eye to the varietals.

The design was created with the concept of featuring each of the elements separtly to emphasize their beauty and freshness. I worked with my UFD and Hofland suppliers in order to source all the Ontario products that were available. The anthiriums are actully grown only 15 kilometers down the road from our shop. The growers of our products were Cedar Way Floral, Van Geest Bros. Limited, VanZanten Greenhouses, and Rosa Flora.
