Potted Anthurium are beautiful, low-maintenance plants to have in the home. Anthuriums are commonly known as the Little Boy Flower or Flamingo Plant and are native to the tropical regions of Hawaii. Anthuriums have dark shiny leaves and heart shaped flowers that come in a variety of colors, such as red, white and pink. The flowers are also available as cut flowers in Ontario year-round!

CARE: The Anthurium prefers moderate to bright light, so ensure that the room is well-lit, but that your plant is not directly in the sun. Water once the soil is dry, and make sure that the Anthurium does not sit in water. This can be as simple as making sure that there is a plate under the pot, and drainage holes in the bottom of your plant’s pot. Since the plant is native to tropical regions, it is important to mist the leaves weekly, to keep it looking beautiful! The plant should be fertilized once a month and during the summer it is good to bring the Anthurium outside on the patio!
